One of the last things Mom told me while she was in the ICU was how she wanted to see Marvel’s The Marvels, the then-upcoming sequel to Brie Larson’s 2019 Captain Marvel.

Mom loved going to the movies. She always marveled at the big-budgetted blockbuster films. She loved rom-coms. She loved to laugh and disappear into the realm of possibilities in movies.

The Marvels, she wanted to see because of her more recent favorite Korean actor, Park Seo Joon. In The Marvels, Joon played Prince Yan, a prince of a water-world and betrothed to Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel. The movie came out in November, five months after Mom passed. Alan, my business partner and best friend, and I went to see the movie together on Thursday night previews. We both enjoyed the movie.

I’m a big Brie Larson fan, so I’m glad she has since come out and said she is sticking with the Captain Marvel role.

The Marvels will soon be available on Disney+ for streaming.
